Cookie Policy – Only One Carry On

Last Updated: January 9, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, why Only One Carry On uses them, and how you can manage your cookie preferences. Think of cookies like breadcrumbs—but digital ones that help you (and me) navigate better.

What Are Cookies? (Besides Delicious Travel Snacks)

Cookies are tiny text files that websites store on your device when you visit. They help me remember your preferences, understand how you use my blog, and show you relevant content.

Fun fact: Cookies got their name from “magic cookies” in computing—packets of data passed between programs. Not because they’re delicious (though that would be a better reason).

What Cookies Does Only One Carry On Use?

I’ve categorized cookies so you can choose which ones you’re comfortable with. You can manage your preferences using the cookie banner or the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer.

Full Cookie List

Here’s every cookie you might encounter on Only One Carry On:

Cookie Name Purpose Type Duration
cookieyes-consent Remembers your cookie choices Necessary 1 year
_ga Google Analytics – distinguishes users Analytics 2 years
_gid Google Analytics – distinguishes users Analytics 24 hours

Note: This list will be automatically updated as I add or remove services. Check back if you’re curious about what’s changed.

How to Manage Your Cookie Preferences

On This Website

Click “Cookie Settings” in the footer of any page. You can change your preferences anytime—turn cookies on, turn them off, whatever makes you comfortable.

Want to be really specific? You can allow analytics but block marketing cookies. You can enable social sharing but disable ads. It’s all up to you!

In Your Browser

You can also control cookies directly in your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

⚠️ Important: Blocking all cookies might make some website features stop working properly (like keeping you logged in or remembering your preferences).

Third-Party Cookie Policies

The companies I work with have their own cookie policies. Here’s where to read more:

Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers have “Do Not Track” settings. My website doesn’t currently respond to these signals because there’s no industry standard for how to handle them.

However, you can always use the cookie settings banner to opt out of tracking. That’s even better than “Do Not Track” because it gives you granular control over different types of cookies!

Updates to This Policy

I’ll update this Cookie Policy when I add new tools or services. Check the “Last Updated” date at the top to see if anything’s changed.

I’m happy to explain how any of this works—I speak both plain English and tech jargon (a useful skill when traveling in both Orlando and Silicon Valley).
